      BATTLE OF STOCKHOLM

The day dawned clear above the Swedish capital. A light snow was drifting down on the rooftops. And a disciplined row of 20,000 Swedish troops marched out bravely to meet their deaths against 70,000 Danish troops. King Frederick I himself rode atop a marvelous black horse. On the horizon the red and white Dannebrog fluttered in the breeze. The Swedes muttered prayers as they watched the Danes preparing for victory.

      - - - - - - - -

Rows of Danish cannons roared as the Swedish soldiers hunkered down to defend themselves. The Danes charged with fixed bayonets, a virtual tsunami of red coats. The Swedes fired desperatly bringing down an odd soldiers here and there. However 20,000 couldn't stop 70,000. The Danes crashed into the Swedish lines with vigor. Musket fire and hand-to-hand fighting engulfed the battlefield.

King Frederick realized that his forces were doomed and he ordered a withdrawl. The remaining Swedish forces complied. The road to Stockholm was open for the Danes.

      END RESULT: Danish Victory
      Danish: 2,000
      Swedish: 12,000

I need your help. Will this ultimatum work or not? That is where you come in. Since it be a biased desicion if I made it, you make it for the Swedes... I haven't heared from the Swedish player since the beginning, so...

        Please vote yay or nay.

        Danish Ultimatim

To Sweden. We give you the chance to surrender right now. All off the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish territories will be united under one crown as it was 400 years ago. This time the union will be ruled from Copenhagen. If you do not accept this, we will continue our occupation and we will not look mildly upon any resistance offered.

Sweden's king Frederick I delivered this speech from Stockholm shortly before fleeing the city.
              quote:

The Danes would have you belive that you have beaten us they would have you believe that there is no hope for us. This is simply not true. They may take our lands and our homes. They may take everything we own, but they will never take one thing. Our Freedom!! We will resist as long as we must. We will make the Danes pay for every inch of land they take with their blood

OOC - That's a nay Coug. Give me your tactics Chris and I'll do it for you.

                The Danish reply was short.

                So be it.

                  BATTLE OF LIVORNO

Charles Emmanuel watched as the Tuscan soldiers marched out toward his own soliders. As they reached an open field they stopped and acattered forming a front line for the expected Piedmontese assault. Charles Emmanuel smiled at the Tuscan's foolishness. He turned to his troops and began to issue orders. His soldiers would envelop the Tuscan lines. 13,000 would head to the right, 12,000 to the left, and 13,000 would pin the Tuscans down.

                  - - - - - - -

The roar of artilley and the crack of musket fire was deafining. The Piedmontese pinning forces were advancing slowly. The Tuscans carefully picked off the avancing soldiers. However the Piedmontese were taking out their fare share as well. Finally the two forces met. The hand-to-hand combat was fierce and the Tuscans appeared to be driving the Piedmontese back.

Charles Emmanuel was growing increasingly worried. Why weren't his flanking forces attacking. Where were they? He looked up as a din of gunfire broke out on the Tuscan left. 12,000 Piedmontese soliders rushed in with bayonets fixed. And after a minute or two more gunfire broke out on the Tuscan right. 13,000 more Piedmontese soldiers charged into the fray. The Tuscan commander bravely rode among his troops giving orders and holding his forces together.

However finally the Tuscan commander was struck down by a stray musket ball. Without their leader the Tuscan forces began to panick. And instead of acting like a professional group of soldiers they became a lot of scared children. Every man for himself. The Tuscans retreated for the safety of the city walls of Livorno. Charles Emmanuel ordered for his troops to hold position. The battlefield was littered with the corpses of the dead and soaked in blood. Charles Emmanauel took comfort in the fact that the Piedmontese had given their lives for the worthy cause of a United Italy. However he looked at the Tuscan dead and knew that they had died giving their lives for a selfish ruler who would was blinded by power and wealth. And Charles Emmanuel began to weep at this.

                  END RESULT: Piedmontese Victory
                  Piedmontese: 2,000
                  Tuscan: 7,000
