Yeah I'm also a Star Trek fan and I agree they could of done better. That episode was just, well silly.
The "8472" was in another dimension so therefore they didn't get their little part in the silly episode.
I think an alien like 8472 would be good. Yet making it have "ESP" would be too much like Star Trek.

I have an idea as to how to make some kind of 'planet' such as in SMAC/X what if the beastmasters are evolving their telepathic ablilities into some sort of telepathic network, that only the higher level beastmasters, and later trained human empaths can enter

                Consider it a typo error...

No, it isn't. And I remind you that you too have been caught for spam in the past, so you should know it too.

Okay, back to the actual topic or the thread won't live for much longer.

ok Ras I'm sorry Please! Forgive me!!

                    And Vultur consider it done.

                    Now seriously back to topic...

The Telepathice network sounds very intriging indeed. I like it. The Trained empaths are however a bit silly but I have no objections. Its good nontheless. The Beastmasters could be evolving their little telepathic abilities and the Humans could try to destroy them before the Beastmasters could become stronger. The Humans would be scared of the Beastmasters so thats why they would do it. Now I have a Migraine so I hope this makes sense.

with trained human empaths, i ment something like trancendance like in SMAC, human empaths can enter the telepathic network and control the beastmasters from there,
good idea about the humans being afraid of the beastmasters next step in evolution, maybe there could be some sort of powerstruggle between the factions, to either let them evolve and assist their fragile intelligence, or to destroy the network at the roots and kill all the beastmasters.

I also have the idea that the upper-level beastmasters (or maybe some special class of "uber beastmasters")can mindcontrol smal bases with their telepathic powers, but doing that costs them all their energy so they cant control any predator soldiers and are vulnerable. (but they do control the bases' soldiers)

well a faction struggle could be implemented into the singleplayer campaign, I think it would be to complicated for multiplayer purposes

Why dont the Graphic artists start doing some 3D rendering on these aliens. I dont know what they should look like though. So maybe the artists can use their own design.
