You need to hold all four at once, at the start of a new game turn. That turns off the Ukrainian reinforcement flag.

Techumseh, how big a download is this scenario?

About 8MB, not including the movie, which is another 3.4MB.

Seems they have an interesting set of flags and triggers for these events eh, I might have to look into ToT a little more...

Hi. I've had Test of time for a couple of years but never played any scenarios for it before. This one seems very good and that, but very hard. I seem to get over half the country conquered, then the Central Powers attack, then the Czecks and the Nationalists, then a bunch more attacks. By the time the Polish attack comes, I'm down to only 10 cities or so. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thank you.

FMK, I'd be glad to give any help you need.

Kavanaugh, the key is to build a strong postition right from the start. You have about 4 turns before the German/Austro-Hungarian attack - you should try to get at least 75% of the Russian cities by then.

-capture Moscow on the first turn. If you do, you receive 3 red guards, a red cavalry and an artillery unit. If you don't, the Whites get them.

-build armoured trains. They're expensive, but worth it, especially at the start. You can get 2 pretty cheap. On the second turn, Pskov and Minsk go into disorder. If you bribe them and disband the deserter units homed to them, you can build an armoured train in each. Move these to Moscow and rehome them in case you lose one or both of the original cities.

-consider selling off some of your improvements and rush buy good units (sailors, armoured cars, artillery and arm. trains) in the first couple of turns.

-give up Finland and the Baltic, at least at the start. Your control of their cities is a trigger for Finnish and Baltic reinforcements.

-Try to hold Kiev and Kharkov against the German offensive. Put an artillery unit in each. Target the Sturmtruppen units before they attack.

-Select squares inside each citys' radius to maximize shields. You can increase your overall production by up to 50% if you're systematic about this.

-Try an intermediate level. I can always win a decisive victory at 'Proletarian', but I've never won at 'Politburo' (default).

              Good luck.

No wonder it was so hard I'll try out a lower level

Sorry about that. I should have said so at the begining. I just assume that people like really hard scenarios, so I figure if I can't beat it, it's just about right. I couldn't beat Red Front and people loved it. Go figure.

OK, thanks. I'll try out what you suggest. One more thing is, the readme file says the Central Powers will keep a peace treaty after awile. But in my last game they attacked again, captured a city and then made peace. Then they attacked again and even took Moscow.

You probably broke a treaty. The Bolsheviks start with a bad rep, but if you keep your treaties with everyone, then the Germans should keep the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk until after the Armistice, provided you don't get too weak. If you break even one treaty however, then it's unlikely that anyone will respect deals that they make.

During the 4 offensive turns, the Central Powers may repeatedly make treaties after capturing a city, only to attack again in the same turn when a new MAKEAGRESSION event is triggered. After June, 1918, these triggers are disarmed. If you've been good, it should stick.

Hi, nice scenario. I played it on a prettu simple level (must be prince) and had little problem. I believe that selling all those useless libraries and granaries gives too much gold to the bolcheviks, but then I should replay on harder level to see if it's true. One point bothers me, though: I can't invade Leipsig with my trains! I had to call in artillery and cavalry to take the city.

Spent several hours last night playing the scenario and really love it. Have always liked Russian civil war scenarios and this one really features it good. Lots of nice events and the game stays interesting until the end.

Only problem i noticed is like LDI said the Bolsheviks get money bit too easily. This combined to cheap Comissinars and you can win nearly any battle just by buying the enemy cities. I suggest increasing their shield cost or making them only available through events.
