  • MAp Making Question

My Understanding is that maps can be at most 10,000 tiles in size. However, when I look at the map for the Jules Verne scenario it is 150 by 120 which is 18000 tiles. The map editor won't let me import it.

    1. How was the map made so big?
    2. Is there a way for me to get it into the map editor?
    3. Am I stuck with using a world map of 75 by 120?

Take a look at this thread lurking near the bottom of this very page:

Hell, why not, lets bump it.

The Jules Verne map isn't 150 x 120, but 75 x 120. You probably figured its measurements out when playing Civ2... Civ2 doesn't use the same coordinate system as the Map Editor. So a map of 150x120 in Civ2 is actually 75x120.

If you tried to load the scenario in your map editor, that's not possible. What you can do is start the scenario, save it, and then open this savegam with the map editor. You will then also notice that this map is indeed only 75x120.

Thanks. I realized that last night. I just used the large world map that comes with Civ2 since they are the same except for a few minor modifications.
