They are for a scenario based on the "Vault of the Drow" AD&D module by Gary Gygax. I've wanted to create this ever since I discovered Civ scenario creation. Until ToT came along it wasn't technically possible to do it with the depth and flavor that I feel the subject deserves.

btw Techumseh, it was your teaching me how to do realistic underworld landscaping (via LotR) that was the catalyst for this project.

What's the one in the middle though? Some kind of Alien Intelligence?
Thanks Ravagon. I can't take full credit however, as I found the base art on the net. It was originally ripped from an SSI game I think.

The Xorn, the image in the middle, is an earth elemental creature that comes to the prime material to feed on precious metals and ores.

The Illithid (mind flayer) should be purpleish in color but purple is a tricky color to work with in civ, so I take poetic licence.

So you want camo SS infantry units to be made?

If you want, I could make more of them.

      • Yea i would, with different weapons, MG-34, MG42, Mp-40, Mp-38, Stg-44, Gehwer 98, and normal rifle... and even russian weapons!

I wanna make a scenario now about the Waffen SS

        • The difference between the Mp38 and the Mp40 was a change to the firing pin. Not much difference to be draw there. Also, by Gewer'98 are you meaning the Kar'98 (Karbiner/Carbine)... the rifle, or is there a gewer'98 that I don't know about?

          • The Kar' 98 was the standard bolt action rifle

the gewher '98 was like the American Grand M1 is was semi-auto in a sense

              • Waffen SS Uniforms

Soundwave, I did a little checking up for you. You might want to consult some more sources because these SS uniforms here are far from all cammo. These might help you too ANZAC.

edited to speed up page loading. They can be found at http://www.skalman.nu

Changing cammo a bit here and there isn't terribly hard to do. Especially with those patterns above. Give it a try, play around a bit. Do what you think is best though for you scenario desires. Is your command going to be seperate from a German Army (possibly AI) civ? A scen 'about the SS' sounds pretty interesting. Care to share some more?

                • Hmm you relize that most of the uniforms, are for dress, not actual combat troop uniforms... i have consulted my sources LOL, many historical sites.

                  (but thanks anyway)

About the Scenario:- I wish to create one, involving SS Combat units and the miltary districts (i think Hamburg was one and others, including Bleorussia). And the combat that they went through e.g. eastern front, d-day, italy, romania...last offcenses such as Relief of Berlin, Vienna and Budapest....

                  • Soundwave- referring to that picture you posted, to me it looks a hell of a lot like he is wearing a smock and the pants equivalant over his uniform. One thing you need to remember is that during WWI all of the countries involved used the same uniforms for both combat and dress. It was very unpractical, but it was cheaper. After WWI, Germany was the only country not to change this practice. They may have been more advanced tactically, but they were behind in the region of the common foot soldier. They still used the Kar'98, the potato masher grenade, and the same uniforms from twenty years earlier. I think I have babbled long enough.
