MC, good suggestions. I was going to use Manfred Mann's version of All Along The Watchtower, and maybe Voodoo Child from Hendrix. I already had The End by The Doors pegged for - you guessed it - the end of the scenario. It's from the soundtrack of Apocalypse Now, so it fits. I'll see if Fortunate Sun works. Do you have it?

From what I understand of that Civ game of yours, it's all about launching one's own spaceship before the others do. So this is no big news after all: my father just beat you all to the stars once more. - Philippe Baise

Yes Techumseh, I have just about all the classics from that period. And if I don't, then I probably know someone who does.

PS. I just sent you an email before I checked this thread again . You can ignore it for now.

PPS. Do you have the trial version of VideoWav III or did you actually buy it?

Yes, MJ, I did. Since VideoWave IV has come out, VW III has been in the remainders bin for about 25 bucks Canadian, so it's not a bad deal. The interface drives me nuts, but it can do everything you want. It converts the MPEG's from Earthstation 1 to AVI's, edits the footage, eliminates every 2nd or 3rd frame to reduce file size, adds sound, and adds text for credits, with fade if you want it.

There is a freeware program that will do everything but add credits, called Virtual Dub. It's available at: www186.pair.com/vdub/index.html I gather you've tried the program Platypus Animation, which is shareware and puts a stupid watermark on any frames you create unless you buy the licensed version. I don't know of any freeware program that allows the insertion of titles/credits. If anyone does, please let us know.

I'll have to look for VideoWavIII in stores if its cheap. I'm not really looking to spend much money here... I'm downloading the freeware link you gave to see how it works. Text isn't that important to me. BTW, do you know if I can convert a real audio video (like your preview movie) to an avi? I may be able to get some great video footage for my new WW2 scenario.

BTW, can the full version of VideoWavIII record avi's from a movie in your VCR? I was able to record sounds with GoldWav by hooking up my VCR to my computer and I'm hoping I can do the same thing with avi's. Just think of the possibilities if this is plausible! We could revolutionize scenarios!!! For instance, having footage from Platoon, Apacolypse Now, or Hamburger Hill in your Vietnam scenario.... aaahhhhhh......
