    Excellent!

I found the 3rd Reich was harder than it seems too.
London took serveral months of sheer hell to conquer!
The East front was a nightmare also, with endless red artillery, bomber and tank attacks...

I eventually launched a foolhardy invasion of the East USA, to see what kind of fight the Americans would put up...

The yanks fight like devils with those B-17s, if not for my Komets and Me262s, doom would have befallen me for sure!

And the great thing was the fact that I got NOT EVEN ONE 'too many units' message!

Even during the mega-unit build-up for my US invasion!

      Corker!

        Curt, I have a question....

In my game Nazis and Rusia stayed at peace. It was a pleasant surprise for me (not hardcoded Germany attack against Rusia), and the game is quite interesting because Rusia is figthing Japan but not Germany. But USA did attack Japan and Germany... is that hardcoded?

Anyway, great, great scen. Thank you again

I think it has to do with the WW2 AI.
Perhaps some sort of random chance hex code?

In my games, Germany and the CCCP seemed to fight about 50% of the time.
Sometimes they did stay at peace though...

I've played a couple of turns with the Russians (well, only one, i've been studying for mid-terms), but in the previous version, as the Americans, the British AI managed to research about one tech/turn for at least the first 5 turns.. i don't know about this one though...

@N35t0r: You should give the present version a shot, as this is what the thread is for! ( )
And also as the tech avalanche is fixed somewhat!

Curt, my experience playing as the British was virtually identical to yaroslav. First off, it's great fun to play and looks beautiful, as ever. As with Yaroslav, the Russians battled the Japanese and Eastern Allies but never lifted a finger against the Germans.

Isn't the WW2 AI supposed to ensure that something kicks off between Germany and Russia after so many turns?

It's odd, in my most recent game, the USSR and Nazis were kicking the mince from each other...

I wonder if there is a coded trigger....

I played a while as the Axis, managing to conquer Britain by turn 5 (although i had to suicide 8 light tanks against London. The Waffen SS were very helpful to take it, using them to assault from the sea). I then moved on to russia, and have taken Minsk, Kiev , Odessa and Riga by the second turn. (mind, a lot of troops, especially bombers, haven't gotten back from Sealion.)

Valletta is extremely easy to capture (the BB and CC from Rome blew up its two defenders, and i sent a light tank on the freighter to occupy it.) I sugest that you add a coastal fortress there.

One more thing, you should put something else instead of infantry in neutral cities which are supposed to be taken (Tunis, Padang, Bangkok) so that you don't take the 1000 gold hit. (luckyly i didn't try and take Tunis, as i already had Valletta)

Well, my idea with various cities was thus:

If the Germans had hit certain cities early in the war, they probably would have taken them.
But they didn't, giving the enemy a chance to harden.

Given a turn or two, many Allied cities will have tough AAs and UU infantry in them.
Then these redoubts would not be so easy to take.

You hit them early and the victory was yours. Why complain?

Your suggestion is noted though, and I will add a coastal fort to Valletta.

                        Curt:

I have a question regarding the WWII AI.

I know that the Civ2 programmers used it in the default WWII scenario.

And I have often wondered if this could be used in another scenario.

Does it work OK for you?

                        Great work, btw

Thanks for continually up-dating the scenario.

                        Cheers!

I heard what it did was make the British AI refuse to make peace, ever.

It has a lot do do with how civs of a certain colour.

How light blue civs react is unknown, but any of the civ colours in the microprose WW2 scen will react in a coded way.

Orange and blue always fight, blue stays at peace with white for a set time...

                            More research is needed methinks.

I'm not. just telling you how i did...

and i'm sure that london would have been harder if i hadn't had those Waffen SS to make the amphibious assaults.

Oh, btw, you might want to raise the Panzergrenadiers' attack a bit, to 8 maybe. I don't know, it seems right...
