  • Middle East Maps?

Does anyone know where I can find a good map of the Middle East? Pakistan - Turkey area...

I looked around through the ACS database and I couldn't find any that have only the middle east. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have made some... But many are old, and I don't know
whether they finally were published on the net somewhere or not. Especially that even them, they are not quite reaching Pakistan, and I doubt they are what You need. The map I made for Mamluk scn,
I think it reaches the western borders of Pakistan.
If Jorrit could find the smaller version of it, and enlenghten it to the east rather than to the north, it would have much of it I think. But this map is pretty big.
and it reaches from as far as Albania to the west,
    and Somalia to the south...

The Apolyton database really should be just about the last place to look for maps... Try my map database instead:

Even so, there don't seem to be any maps of that reason. That is, most maps of the Middle East only go as far as Iran.

I looked through my map collection... (quite a bit more extensive than what's on my site... so much that I don't really look forward to having to add them all )... And found 4 maps that might be close enough. You'd have to do a fair bit of changing and extending for each of those, though. So maybe you'd be better off making your own. If any of those suit you just fine, let me know and I'll post/mail them.

Yep. Once again I have to admit my map is the best.

          Hey Mercator!

I really like that map upper right hand. Mediterranean + northwestern Europe. Which one is that? (I might already have it somewhere.)

It's Harlan Thompson's "BIGRoman" map. After learning of "oversized" maps he extended several of his earlier maps (not sure what the original one's called) a bit. I'm actually not sure if these maps were ever available anywhere, he might have mailed them to me only (expecting me to put them up on my website ).

Heresson: I think all four of those maps are excellent. I prefer mine, though. But that's mostly because it's higher detail (i.e. more zoomed in), and I just love how I did those mountains.

The one in the upper left is really good,
I'm not so enthusiastical about upper right and down left.
