  • Recruiting Playtesters

If anybody here would like to help me playtest my upcoming scenario "Fire and Roses", please mail me at
    Stefan.Haertel@t-online.de
Or post into this thread (but then post your eMail adress here).
A description of the scenario can be found at www.civfanatics.com
And maybe a couple of threads further down, if that thread is still there.
The basic goals of playtesting are the following:

-Overall judgement of the scenario's playability
-Judgement of the artwork, wether it looks good, and if it suits the scenario
-Suggestions for game improvement, including units, events, etc.
-And of course any other points of critic
Not to mention every critic should be constructive!

You should also have a lot of spare time and patience. Also, no prejudice whatsoever against anything islamic, iranian, arabic, etc. is welcome. I do not ask you to change your political and religious opinions, but tolerance and sense of difference between this game and reality should be provided, but that's obvious, I think.
A decent knowledge or interest in middle eastern and islamic culture would be great.
    Follow the masses!
    30,000 lemmings can't be wrong!

I'll give it a go. Send the scenario to nick_dowling@hotmail.com

        Hey Stephan,

So far, great scenario. I'm playing as the Bujids at Emir level, and my ass is just starting to be kicked by the Abbasids. Okay, first of all, the constructive stuff:
-scouts move tooo fast, the map can be discovered really quickly.
-more events please! to keep the game play interesting.
-some of the units don't really go together (the scout is some white guy!)
-maybe some stationary units that once 'killed' give you stuff that take up space in the middle of nowhere (because there is a lot of 'nowhere')

        The good stuff:
-as everyone knows- absolutely beautiful terrain and cities
        -nice boarder graphic
        -fun gameplay, not too complicated
-great research (now I know something about middle age persia)
-very detailed map, so exploring is fun

I'll get back to you with more later, since I'm not near finishing.
