  • Is heavy metal music suitable for an ancient scenario?

I'm asking this because I plan to include some 80's heavy metal -or at least rock- clips for background music in my next version of "Darius the Great". I do have some good fitting clips, but do you think it's suitable?
FYI, the music is basically just Queen and Meat Loaf.

Wow, you guys really are a help! I don't remember this being an Aufstieg thread!

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood. I just watched one of the best movies of my life, thought that everything's great! Sure. I'm overtired and my computer crashed two times in a row loading this damn internet!
I nearly broke my desk in the resulting losing of control and wishing for an axe, a chain saw or something like that.

I know what what you are going through. How often did I want to take the axe and recycle my PC...

But on the music: What piece of music were you thinking of? It really depends about which song you are talking about.

I haven't gone that through 100%ly. But what I want to use for sure is:

-Part of "I Want it all" (Queen, "The Miracle") at the beginning of the Ionian Revolt
-Part of "Put out the Fire" (Queen, "The Works") when Aristagoras is burning Sardeis (Nuke sound)
-Several guitar solos from several Queen and Meat Loaf songs as background music

                    Well?

Sounds good to me. What about some Led Zeppelin to make things interesting?

Hey, mabye I could be of some help. I have the game "Queen: The Eye". That's a 1st person adventure/beat 'm up kind of game. Its entire "soundtrack" is made up of Queen songs remixed etc. Most of the times the voices are removed, so that could be nice for some background music. But then again, their "original" music might serve just as well.

I guess those musics would be fine. But to be honest I don't think I ever listened to them. However, people seem to like the idea so I would go ahead with it.
