Hello, I’m about to make a scen about a fictional war on a fictional island (with jungle climate). It is not going to be a big scen and I’m not all that good at making scenarios so don't expect much.

Any way, what forces would you like to see in this scen and about when in time should it take place?

That’s what I’m asking you: what forces fight, and when do they fight.

      What would you like?

(There is going to be one civ on the island and one invading it)

How about something reminiscent of the Mongol invasion of Java (1293)? I don't actually know a lot about it myself, but well, it's going to be fictional anyway. But you can get some inspiration from it...

The idea would be a powerful empire tries to invade the main island of an up-and-coming local power. The terrain isn't exactly what they're used to though, and their invading force already had some problems, so the army arrives weakened... Something like that.

        Here's some links anyway:

Jungle, what is going on in the jungle?

How about US Marines or some Western military (Australia, Britian, etc.) invade Indonesia to attack pirates and terrorists there?

            How about a primeval scenario?

Where cave dwellers struggle to develop even the most basic settlers and dwellings?

Enemies could be beasts, weather units and cannibals.

The starting turn could be set way back to 10,000BC or more...

Clancy has a scenario buried in his book on the USMC dealing with the liberation of Brunei from a Malaysian puppet government after a coup d'etat. Lays it out in some detail. Now if you sift it through a de-USMC-rules-all filter, you could have a little gem! Hovercraft, LAV's, AAV's, SSN's, Harriers, Buff's, Gurkhas, and propane tankers that can blow up with the force of mini-nukes. Could simulate those tankers with Nuke Plants. If the port goes into revolt - boom! He wasn't as imaginative with the Malaysians, but I suspect we have enough whizzes here to change that.

If you're overdosed on modern age, Merc's idea could be fun, too.

What was that Crichton book on white gorillas?

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I have been locking at the modern graphics thread and there are allot of nice units there that could fit a scen where the US, British and the Malaysians invades an island held by allot of terrorists.

What do you think of this idea?

How about a Greece vs the world scenario?

It shouldn't be a walk in the park for the Greeks though as it would take away all the fun.

What about a conflict in the middle of the Southern Pacific Ocean?
Two modern powers fight for this island and in the same time the natives on the island tries to struggle for independece. They should be doomed though, as they don't have all the advanced weapons.
