A valuable lesson learned today. What works against the AI will get you killed against a human. Typically against the AI I try to keep my army small while building up an invasion fleet and an air force and I only switch production to land forces in late 1938. These means all of my land forces are modern 1939 units and that kicks ass against the AI.
The problem is the humans will make nothing but infantryfrom Jan 1, 1936 so that by Aug, 1939 the UK and France have a combined total of around 300, the USSR has some where between 400-500 and Germany (me) is left with just 120. Hehe, no. I had less divisions than you did, and a majority of them were either preparing to invade Finland or preparing to invade India.
