This is strange... in the new update, all industry should now be connected to a road also, ever since I READ it, my industry only builds, when connected to a road... I didn't press any "Update" button, and I didn't update it myself? Strange... really strange...
Has everybody imported the cities, so far? (Well, everybody except for Jonny, and his city...)This space is empty... or is it?

1) I have imported all the cities, yes.
2) I have not updated the game - and BTW, the patch is not on the official site, so I am not sure it's a great idea to update now... Let us hope it doesn't create any incompatibilities between our cities and that of John.
EDIT: never mind... The patch wasn't there this morning but it is now... They probably took it out before due to complaints to check it out - like with the new buildings, and then put it back when they thought it's all good.

Hmmm... I just looked at the list of fixes in the patch, and I don't think I will apply it to my game any time soon. The main reason being the "fix" for the industrial zone growth. I see it as nothing more than turning a normally working thing into a bug. The problem being that when zoning commercial and residential areas, you can see the lots. So you can avoid some of them being inaccessible. With industry, you cannot define a lot, and thus have to essentially have strips of industrial zoning two-three squares wide. Otherwise, the middle areas won't develop. That is ridiculous. Yes, I want to finally get rid of the autoroads, but it's not that much compared to the blow that the undistry has sustained. About the only two things I would really want to see in a patch are:
1) Profit from farms.
2) Less memory leaks.
Neither of those fixes are included. Thus I will wait a little bit till they come up with a better patch. Once again, I hope the differences do not cause incompatibilities between cities. Though I don't think they would.

They are a little annoying The main problem being that they are too dense. A normal block can be six tiles wide, yet the autoroads don't allow you to make any block more than four tiles wide. There has been a huge uproar about that when the game just came out, but I don't see a big problem with that. I got so used to zoning in small chunks, that the autoroads don't bother me any more. And besides, that allows me to control the orientation of the lots better. So, it's not a big deal for me, though some poeple just hate that.
Oh, and add to my personal wish-list - the undo button. That's only three things I want from the patch. Not their "industrial fix."

There is apparently a plug-in that is supposed to automatically update it when you click on the patch section of the site. It won't let me view the patch details without installing it either.Rethink Refuse Reduce Reuse

Just in case you haven't installed the patch yet, here are the details:
* Fixed crash related to conflict between MySim and Transportation Pack.
* Fixed crash related to SIS video chipsets.
* Fixed several broken links in advisor messages.
* Fixed car zots to display properly.
* Fixed bug where the catalog was showing the incorrect capacity for the Recycling Center.
* Fixed bug where industry development would occur even when commuters could not reach the zone.
* Added support for new ATI Radeon drivers that add backing store capability.
* Added option to turn off auto-road when zoning behavior by holding the shift-key while zoning.
* Added option to change orientation of lots when zoning by holding the alt-key while zoning.
* Added whales.
* Retuned pollution values for airports and seaports.
* Port efficiency is now displayed correctly.
* Airport upgrading now works correctly (based on current use).
* Freight trains can now drop cargo at ports.
* New zone graphics now better indicate the front of lots.
* The railroad crossings are also supposedly fixed now, as per one of the posts on the official boards.

Also, I see that the number of posts in this thread is 160 now... Isn't the limit 150? Maybe we should start a new thread, since we have just started playing? It would be devoted to the sort of "city reports" that we have been making so far. Every time a person uploads their city tou ADG's sever, they post in that thread, and give a brief overview of changes, and stuff like that. Anybody wanna start that? (ADG would probably be the person to do it, since it is his idea. )

Yeah, it might be 500 posts. 150 must be the old one.
As for ICQ, I don't have it... I do have some messengers, though. Now, I think that posting here is still good - that way, we also get to see the screenies, and descriptions of cities. It's pretty cool, I think.
