Solver... of course... if you get bored with your city you can always just hit the little ol' Smite button and send the firestorms, etc... and then rebuild... that's one way to conquer... well, yourself.

ADG, many thanks on all that info, SimCity 4 actually sounds like it'll be fun to play. I've steered clear of The Sims myself but SimCity 4 sounds like it would actually be enjoyable.

Civ and WoW are my crack... just one... more... turn...

NP If I find some more info, I'll share it here...

As I first heard they was making a SimCity 4, I just thought of a game with that few changes as there was from SimCity 2000 - SimCity 3000, but as I saw the pictures of the flying cows (From Tornado), I began to find as much info as possible, about the game

And now, since they have Vulcanoes, it'll be even more interesting

That was my worry but most of your quotes here have me excited. I cannot wait to play it.

*sighs* Too bad they won't do a concurrent release on the Mac and PC...

<-- Will have to wait a year after release to get it.

I just had a closer look at the new pictures. Take a look at this one:

                  and then:

If a backyard has a little chalk outline of a murder victim, you know that there's a lot of crime nearby
I think you can see that in the above picture (In the low right corner, just next to the tree)...but I might be mistaking...

Btw, how come the roads doesn't connect? Might be just a bug, they haven't killed yet...

And here's some more information, can't say were I read it though, I forgot:

In SC4, you'll be able to build/zone on slopes (I remember back in the old SC games, were it was a pain in the *** to build a city in a mountain area)...

ADG, from what I read, it seemed that chalk would only appear on like a sidewalk or driveway or street. It would seem weird to have chalk lines on grass but I guess it is possible.

And about the slope, they said housing can be built on slopes but for industry they are going to want wide open spaces.

It looks weird yes, could be it's a bug or something, that makes it show up "everywhere", the game isn't perfect...yet...

Yes, but the point was, the slopes are now useable

I wonder if they made roads be able to "turn" on slopes? Haven't noticed anything like that on the screenshots yet...

Yeah... I think that is chalk.

That road may not be a bug... I've seen odd streets like that in my own city where they do that to route traffic to certain intersections and not slow down traffic with having to deal with a bunch of extra ones.

A couple of days ago I got some more information about the game (As usual I forgot were the info came from )...Anyway, here it is:

The day/night thingy has a certain speed, not matter which speed you play the game in. So just because you makes time goes faster, that doesn't mean that the day/night thing flickers faster too...A month isn't 30 nights then...

This also makes sense, I just saw the videos again, and in one of them, they changed the time of day to night, two seconds later they pressed the sun button, and *cha-ching* it became day again

I started a thread on SimCity 4 a while back (actually, back in March.)

                            Here it is: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=45843

I just found an old site with a wishlist for SC4, most of the wishes are included in the game. But there's one page (called silly), where they have all the silly wishes...Take a look here, they are worth a laugh
