Which of the SD (not going to try to spell it) series was released as Secret of Mana?

    Beaten:
    Secret of Mana
    Chrono Trigger
    Chrono Cross
    FF6

    Played/Own (besides above):
    SD 2
FF5 (played on ROM, finally got a legal copy and am going to play it after I finish off all the Chrono Trigger endings and see the new features of FF6 for the PSone.)
FF7 (got sick of it near the end... just got so pissed when that girl died... especially after she was my favorite character that I just stopped playing.)
FF9 (have yet to play, got it as a gift and have been waiting 'till I have a good amount of time.)

    Other non-Square RPGs beaten:
Earthbound (what a great game, it really is, find the ROM and try it out.)
    Super Mario RPG
Ogre Battle (like FF Tactics, going to buy the GBA version soon mainly for the feature of not having to argue who has the better army any more.)

And what's this about a D&D thread? White Wolf player myself, but done a little (okay, very little) D&D in my time.
I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

Civ and WoW are my crack... just one... more... turn...

Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

        *bump*

        Seiken Densetsu II.

Seiken Densetsu I is known as Final Fantasy Adventure.

And they're doing Ogre Battle for GBA? *buys GBA in anticipation*

BTW: SMRPG was done by Square. In fact, Nintendo released it instead of Seiken Densetsu III.
oh god how did this get here I am not good with livejournal

the final fantasy adventure series was only on GB (there were 4 of them, they were all simliar and were pre-FF4)

          totally different than Seiken Densetsu

I though Seiken Densetsu was Secret of Mana.

They're remaking alot of the old SNES games for the GBA.

Ok, let's get our Gameboy games straight here

There was a single game titled "Final Fantasy Adventure". That's the first Seiken Densetsu game. It would also be Secret Of Mana 0. Thusly, Seiken Densetsu 2 is Secret of Mana. Seiken Densetsu 3, is just what it says it is.

Now, there was another gameboy series called Final Fantasy Legend. This was a 3 part series, and I thought the games were pretty good. These titles however, are actually the original SaGa games, which continued onto SNES with Romancing SaGa and PSX with SaGa Frontier (And currently Unlimited SaGa is being produced for PS2).

they did make a final fantasy adventure for the game boy

as well as final fantasy legends (3 of these)

                I got these mixed up

know there were 4 of them

and thought they were all final fantasy adventures (1 through 4)

                oops, my bad

They seriously did that to us? (Thinking of the SMRPG took the place of a SoM 2.)

That does really suck. Happen to know what their reasoning was behind it.

That explains something to me, since a friend of mine had FF Adventure and noted that there was the Mana Tree mentioned in it or something. Now it makes more sense to me.

Actually, IIRC, Square had three RPGs done and ready for American release-- SD3, SMRPG, and Secret of Evermore.

Nintendo obviously should have gone with SD3, and SMRPG was also pretty good. But SoE? IMHO, it's a dumbed-down version of SD2.

SoE should never have even been released. It just can't beat out how good SD3 really is... hopefully, while Square is doing all of this revamping, they'll just make a Mana Chronicles or something and rerelease SoM and SD3 (as SoM 2) and be done with it.

Hopefully they'd even get the same people who did the animations on the rerelease of Chrono Trigger (personally I think their cgi graphics on some of the other games wasn't up to snuff.)
