as I said. you're very funny.

one thing: if you want to spam, go in the OT. these forums are for more or less serious discussions. such posts as the last by you don't belong here!

    Mao's tops, how ridiculous!

Don't worry Andz, I found the manuals. By the way, since this is supposed to be a serious hint thread, I'll post the first hint:

-attacking neutral cities with a pair of sprites usually works on anything up to easy.

For all you jaded MoM experts out there come in and share the knowledge.

I also like Master Of Magic.

Shadowstrike: the sprites thingy... which difficulty level do you play? Intro?

I think Mithril was mentioned for the First time in the Lord of the Rings. It's Steel that shines as bright as Silver or something like that. True Silver or Silver Steel are other names for it...

Adamantium is from Marvel comics I think. It's also a kins of metal, but I don't know much about it.

In Master of Magic weapons made of these metals are generally stronger than Standard or Magic Weapons.

          Magic Weapons: Melee attack +1
          Mithril Weapons: Melee attack +2
          Adamantium Weapons: Melee attack +3
please tell me if I'm wrong with the figures

And yes, the special resource has to be in the city's range to be able to build units with such weapons...

and some people think I can only spam

That's wierd, I have 4 cities with mitheril in their raidus' (a bonaza, because I control Arcanus) and they still produce only magic weapon troops (because I'm using Jafar's picture)

I think you need a certain building until the special minerals can be used for weapons... Alchemist's Guild? Animist'sGuild? don't know. one of these I think, perhaps another

Yes, you are right. Yoou need a special building. As far as I know, the alchemist guild allows you to build magic weapons.

I did not really care much about this. Just a little bonus in attack...

Yes, mithril is a Tolkienish word. It refers to true silver. Frodo´s chain mail was made of mithril (and it costed, in Aragorn words, more than the whole Shire!)

Another thing to comment. Use the last verstion (1.31 I think)! The game is UNPLAYABLE with the original one. Believe me, unplayable.

Oh! Before I forget, there is a special unofficial patch that allows you to play multiplayer (hot seat and modem) and to edit your own lands and wizards. It was called MMom, MMomshell or something like that...

                ------------------------

                DAMNED MICROPROSE!! You
have screwed up diplomacy with AI in you
                MGE!
                Fix it!

(I will sign with this as long as the problem is not solved)

Easy, Strategist. Don't laugh, I only got the game 2 days ago! By the way, can anyone tell me how you can build troops with mithril/adamantium weapons? Does the mineral have to be in the city radius or right next to the city or below the city?

You don't have to show off your knowledge about the Lord of the Rings

We all use 1.31, as this is the version we downloaded there... could you give the link here, Shadowstrike?

Can you give a link leading to the Multiplayer patch, Lazlo?

                      thank you

Strategist, I downloaded MoM from The Gaming Depot in the Unreviewed Section, and when I went back to check, it was gone. My copy is version 1.31 I've seen that multiplayer patch somewhere, but I don't remember where.

Yeah, I got your mail. Y'kow they should make a sort of mini-game out of the combat interface. That would be fun to play. Do you know if such a thing exists?

Well, X-COM: Enemy Unknown uses similar combat system...

                              I don't know more...

BTW it's all very clear and easy to understand now, eh?

I just read through the manual. I'm a lot clearer on a lot of things now. The mitheril/adamantium bonus applies only with an alchemists guild, and the attack bonus is worth it.
