      • Very well. 100HP rematch it is. Feel free to send in your orders, but I think I'll probably refrain from using them until Jamski and Chaunk's next round has occured (For the purposes of plot development ).

          • Semi-final 1, round 12

Jamski-San and Chaunk, unable to consider another attack at once, both pull back and watch their opponent warily and defensively.

Eventually, realising that they will only become weaker with time, they both lurch towards one another, Chaunk lowering his head to bring its spike into play, and Jamski tossing aside his battered and broken shield to grasp his katana in both of his exhausted hands.

Jamski-San, blood obscuring his vision, abandons any hope of defence and is unable to stop even this, an attack from Chaunk which looked too poorly placed to succeed.

            Spoiler:
Chaunk's spike is longer than Jamski's reach and he strikes with it deep into Jamski's chest. Jamski seems not to notice, and pushes forward relentlessly, the spike erupting from his back as he finally comes close enough to swing downward, allowing gravity to assist his near-powerless muscles and bring the razor-sharp blade down on Chaunk's exposed back, slicing lengthways into spine and shattering it conclusively.

Chaunk's body twitches briefly, random nerve impulses induced by the trauma to his spine. As his body collapses to the ground it twists the spike in Jamski's torso, shattering ribs and tearing one lung wide open. Jamski-San's head drops forward, perhaps in a last bow to a worthy opponent, or perhaps simply because there is nothing left to hold it up, and he collapses atop Chaunk on the blood-soaked sands of the arena.

The crowd sink slowly back into their seats, their former calls for blood silenced by the astounding skill and brutality they have seen in the arena. Skanky Burns stands and brings his hands together in a sharp clap, and in a moment the entire audience, from the commentary box to the cheap (and dangerous) front row seats, is giving the four dead competitors a standing ovation. They have seen a sight not seen before, and not likely to be repeated soon.

            Both dead.
What are your preferences for a resolution?

Well, The Ram gets his wish - a double double kill. Ouch... I think that, regardless of other considerations, matches with a small penalty to power like this one are more tactically interesting than those with a large bonus to power, like the other semi.

My stories are starting to get excessively long now, but I think the performance deserves it

              • Listen to me this time. To be consistent, given the effective power bonus difference between the semis their rematch shouldn't be 100HP like ours, but, say, 60HP.

                • Well done Gladiator's. :applause:

Shouldn't this mean that the worst performing Gladiator from the opening round is crowned champ?

                  • Hehe, nice one Jam, good match

60 seems a strange figure to sit at, but yeah sure, why not. One does wonder what would happen if we get another double KO though...

Yes, I think you're probably right, but I'll at least wait until Chaunk and Jamski voice their opinions before coming to any decision.

                      • Maybe they should pull in the 'B' team gladiators. You know, those guys who didn't qualify...

And well done you two. I'd :applause: if I wasn't dead.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Maybe, but we did get resolution about the same time. I don't expect to be around any more often this week than last, but 100 would be too much. Perhaps around 70-80.

Well, that would make Hercules Romani the winner, I guess. However, I think it would be more reasonable to decide these ties be choosing the person who was victorious in the earlier rounds, which woul make Jamski the winner, albeit posthumously...

But we won't do that, because it would be boring .

                            • No, no, I meant giving all 4 their own semi/finals.

Of course I wasn't serious. It is my destiny to kill the Doctor a 2nd time.

                              • Theben we already agreed on 100, and the reason the semis were resolved at the same time is that you were posting instead of sending orders. Look at the number of rounds.
