Final - Round 1

/me walks out into the centre, simply holds his hands up, and watches as the two gladiators come running out of each side. In an attempt to take the crowd by surprise, both gladiators run towards each other to start this momentous final. A simple, understated start, to keep the crowd guessing, and provide a little relief from the long introductions.

The Doctor is straight on the offensive, swinging at Spacius Maxiumus. However Spacius is defending with the best of them, despite his scanty armour, and the blow is blocked. Spacius manages a little flick, that with the Doc's lack of protection, and the strength of his sword arm, manages to cut a nasty little nick in the Doc's back.

The Doc rushes back, dodging left then attacking right. However the move is seen miles off by Spacius, who manages to defend it comfortably. Again, while the Doc slides past, Spacius manages to nick him, this time on the shoulder.

The Doc is almost spent, however he uses the last part, before the bell, to try a small attack. While Spacius defends, his attempt isn't *quite* enough to block the Doc's blow, and it lands, causing damage to Spacius' hand. Spacius returns the favour, cutting the Doc's hand in retaliation.

The Doctor has 105 HP remaining, Spacius Maxiumus has 135.
Accepting orders for round 2.

Nice start Spaced! Something tells me this match will be over soon. With a damage rating of 15, this could be a bloodbath

Damn, I knew that I should have put a little more in that last defense. The only problem with my last strategy is that it is only going to work once.

The worse part is I called it right........I just underestimated how much defence you'd go for.

Not necessarily. Think of defense as damage limitation. A high defense means your opponent needs to use a high attack to harm you, and this low defense and low power. So they won't hit you that hard, and you will hit them. The high defense, low attack and power strategy brings on a new dimension when you have two hard hitters, since you can still do some major damage. It's not just a defensive strategy.

Replace "defence" with "offense" and you'll sum up the same problem I had with you in round 4 of the semis.
