Not much else to say. Judging by the demo, this will be unquestionably the best deathmatch game ever. I'm gonna pick mine up in the next few days probably.

Snow doesn't say UT2004. How was I supposed to know. Whatever, the game is definitely good enough to warrant 2 threads.

And Tass, the millions of people who are going to buy this game care.

After seeing that the min harddrive space needed is 5.5 gigs (OMFG!!) I've given up any thoughts of trying to download the thing and I'm just gonna go pick it up.

I'm not a fan of deathmatch, I prefer team-based and objective based FPS games, such as America's Army, or like a good single-player mode, like Doom, but I just downloaded the demo. Gotta check it out. I remember wanting the original UT in 1999, but never got it .

I'm smart, that demo I downloaded was UT2003. Oh well, that one looked interesting too.

Thanks alva - I'll go look up more about the game.

Solver... you'd like UT2004 then... it's got hella different game modes... Onslaught is similar to BF1942 where you secure waypoints... there's an assault mode where you have to complete unique objectives... and there's like 7-10 more modes that I haven't even tried yet.

Poked around with the demo, liked the CTF mode - as I often do. From what I read, onslaught sounds good, as does assault. I love systems similar to BF1942, or Wolf:Enemy Territory.

Is it like MoH or BF42 where you choose what weapon(s) to use before you spawn, or do you run around and pick them up a la Halo?

How's the combat? Typical run-jump-shoot or are tactics, planning, and team work neccisary?

In deathmatch it's pretty much standard jump around and kill still. CTF is still pretty basic, too. Onslaught mode is where it gets cool. Just jumping and shooting alot will ensure you just lose.
