It would probably be best if we disallowed spying the turn it was built. If everyone agrees then there is no reason not to change the rule mid-game.

No I think there are only 2 possible solutions, since you have to be consistent within the game. Either we allow spies to be used on the turn they are built, or we give everyone an extra spy (except SC, who used his 'starting' spy). Probably the latter is slightly more attractive.

We can't just revert to the correct rules now since Jamski is already dead.

You were killed by a legal spy. You were prevented from causing major damage to Spaced by an illegal spy.
Giving an extra spy is hardly fair to Jam either, as he could have used that spy to keep himself in the game longer.

If I'd know I had a starting spy, I would have spy-and-bombed Spaced in round two, eliminating him

I concur. So we restart? Or play on with either of the 'solutions' and sod Jamski? I think it's mainly up to him.

Ok so now we just need to pick between the 2 solutions. I'd say give everyone a starting spy as per the flawed rules.

I say play on properly from now on. We shouldn't all get a free spy "just because".

I admit that I thought it strange that there was a beginning spy in the rules. But I thought that we had made a change, and I only trained a spy that turn to replace the one that I was using since I did not want to be one spy down on everyone.

Anyway, my thoughts on how to proceed.

Even though they were the death of me for this reason (I skimskied them) I'm in agreement.

Abide by the written rules (which gives everyone a bonus spy)

Ok it's sorted then, and GT can process the next turn at his usual time. That way we all have chance to change orders if desired.

Actually GT has a lot to do. I don't mind taking over signup and rules maintenance if it would help.
