I hope the PC adaptation will go the GTA Vice City route: a real adaptation (and not a mere port) they take time to do correctly, encouraged by the mindboggling sales on PS2

The San Andreas bit of the title would suggest otherwise....
It may well have gambling, but I'd imagine they're going to keep their cards close to their chests on this one, and not release too much in the way of tasty titbits for the time being.

I just saw this yesterday as I recieved a newsletter about it... great news... EXCEPT for the fact that you can't play it on the PC for at least a year

        ...damn consoles...

I just hope they finally include MP, but I doubt it... I've heard some rumours say that they wont include MP before GTA 4...

I heard that it was gonna be in Las Vegas!
That was based on a rumour started by Amazon.co.uk, which had a listing for GTA: Sin City (Las Vegas) not too long ago.

Rockstar denied it, and later released this statement saying the new GTA will be set in San Andreas (San Fransisco).

Rumours have it that there still may be a GTA Sin City, but it will come out on the GBA.

Conflicting rumours about the nature of GTA: San Andreas. Some claim it will be set in the 1970s (GTA VC was set in the 80s, GTA London (PSOne) in the 60s). Some claim it will be a modern time setting, influenced by the rap/gangsta culture of California. If this is true, San Andreas might seem more like Los Angeles than San Fransisco.

          All still rumours though.

I'm so glad I have a PS2 and not some crappy X-box, or I'd have to wait another year or two to play the game.

My prayers goes for it not to be in 1970... I hated Vice City because it was set in 1980... I HATED London because it was set in 1960 AND London...

1980's music... I was surprised to discover that that decade actually produced some good songs. Who would have thought it?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                Definitely not me.

It's worrisome that I now think of Billy Jean more than of any other song

Yes, there were some good songs. I usually listened to Espantoso though =)

Well it goes without saying that they all weren't good.

I personally just loved Maurice Chavez's emission on the VCPR. I also loved their ads, when they said "send us money to fund our ad-free station"

Yes, one of VC's best features was the 80s music.

I can only hope, pray, and plead that SA will, in fact, take place in the 70s.

Imagine--classic rock, funk, and for the masochistic among us, disco. This will be perfect.

I agree with Marcus--if it is the 70s, I imagine the city will be San Fran-like. (Sort of a playable version of the old TV show, Streets of San Fransisco.) If it is more modern, my bet would be on LA.

Does anyone remember San Andreas from the first GTA?

I remember the Golden Gate bridge, and the huge houses on the hills above the city. Chinatown was cool, and of course you could drive the tank along the seafront and waste everybody!

If it's using the same name, then I imagine it'll be SF. The trams on the hills and Alcatraz will be hard to beat.
I only hope that they include the stadia so I can blow the hell out of the 49ers.
