    Your point...?

You insinuated that Brian Reynolds did the work on that game... according to the quoted passage and your response.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

      bad wording.

what I meant was more like, What if they didn't give us the Civ3 they did, stripped of all the BR work

Then we would have got a better Civ3. But we didn't. I didn't win the lotto on Saturday either.

He definitely makes some good games, but I must say that The Sims can prove to be quite addicting. The worst part is, that there isn't any objective, so the game doesn't really end. You just keep setting goals for yourself, and raising you little bars, until it all comecrashing in on your ptitful little head. I sold all of my sims games.

Even I will admit compared to the likes of Big Rigs, Civ III is bug free, balanced and fun to play

I think Sid Meier's losing it a little though. CivIII, my many accounts, was not up to par with the Civ series. I want to see SMACII. AC is so playable, but I've got a little bored with playing it pretty much the same again and again. Would be nice to have a new version to play.

It's not easy to improve on an old classic. That's why Sid doesn't want to do sequels - it takes a different sort of creative mind to do them properly. He's doing Pirates II, hopefully it will turn out good.

As for Alpha Centauri, I don't think there's much else you can add to it.

I would buy SMAC 2 if it only meant that ALL bugs were fixed and the AI was improved substantially. And by all bugs I don't just mean single player. I mean all those annoying things that the AI does when simultaneous turns are on, like getting infinite money, and offering tech you have, and calling you up every time units meet, and not being able to use fungus or techtonic missles w/o them hitting the top of the map, and... goes on and on.

And maybe someone could up the graphics a touch just for fun. And have 14 factions playable at once. Hell I can think of plenty to add. Just make sure the Firaxis hacks don't touch it.

Given sid's track record it might not be a good idea to release a SMAC/X 2. I'm sure they would take short cuts and deliver a game that would create great controversy among the old timers ala Civ3 did.

Firaxis games will be renaming itself to Sid Meier's B*tch in due course. But after a hard day at Sid Meier's Hunt Valley, the Sid Meier's employees go home to their Sid Meier's home and the Sid Meier's wife...Sid Meier is just taking over
