IIRC it was actually the first game I bought* for my C64 in the mid 1980s. This arcade game was made for more or less all of the platforms avaliable at the time, even if they came a couple of years later than the Commodore version. There has also been a couple of sequels that I hadn't heard of before I made some research about it. The first of them X 2 a few years later and a second one at the end of the millenium for a consule that was a total failure as far as I can tell.

    * In other words, it was not the first game I owned for the C64, but that's another story...

Jeff Minter!, that's all I gonna say
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

    • Another so called clue:
The view is 3rd person from aboveish, the person that you control moves from bottom left to top right. More or less at least.

      • I want to guess Beachhead but I think we already did that one.

        • I'm thinking of Space Harrier but that doesn't really match with the 3rd person view.

          • Both wrong!

Clue: The areas that you move trough is basically the same each time but there's more dangers and also more or less for you to do depending how you managed the last time around.

Hmmmm... that could be right. Never knew there was a remake though.

                          • That's almost definitely it from the clues given.

There was a sequel, but I don't know anything about a more recent console version.

                            • Yeah, Paper boy is the correct answer.

As I said, I didn't know about a sequel or a late consol version either, but I found the information on the internet so it must be so.

You gotta admit that the 'logistics-clue' was kind of sneaky!

                              • I admit.

Too tired to post a game now, will do tomorrow.
