  • Hell yeah...I remember this one now.

My brother and I used to play these old C64 games together (or rather I played and he watched...I was 12 years at the time, he was 5).

This game is called "Save New York"

    Asmodean
Im not sure what Baruk Khazad is , but if they speak Judeo-Dwarvish, that would be "blessed are the dwarves" - lord of the mark

        • But of course it's "Save New York".

One of the greatest games I have ever played. So simple, and so fun. Both single player and multiplayer options were addictive and I played the game a lot.

I was known among my friends as "King of the subway". You can still play it using C64 simulation on PC. I don't know what it would be like without joysticks though.

And so Asmodean, fellow veteran gamer, it's your turn, courtesy of CapTVK who busted my game in 10 minutes, but felt he had plenty of trophies already.

          • Heeeeeerreess the next one:

            Year: 1990
            Publisher: Electronic Arts
            Platform: DOS
            Genre: Strategy

Clue #1) The graphics were a mild revolution for that era. Rotatable and zoomable 3D

            • Giving the publisher name might be a little bit too revealing... (Don't know how many games EA published at that time)

...not that I know what game you're talking about anyway...

                • It depends...this game is definately known for the developer. Had I given that, everyone and his mother would have guessed it right off the bat.

If nobody googles it, the publisher info isn't that helpful.

                  • The x-post made this a little weird.

But child of Thor is a winner. It is indeed Powermonger.

(it was a stab in the dark - i wasn't sure if it really qualified as a true 3d game.........but i guess so!)

                        • Okay...first coT and now Spikey.

What made this one so easy??

                          • Well there weren't that many popular strategy games from that era. What is more I played the vast majority, and I expect CoT is the same.

                            • indeed Dr.Spike, after i had got scrolling shooters and platform games out my system through the 80's, i became a strat-whore, and as it was an emerging genre i think i played most of them.

                              Ok sorry for the delay

This was a game that had real charm. Great graphics, music and sound. I think it only came out on 8bit computers, not sure about pc.

                              i'll try a CapTVK,
as means to try to sway
                              the brain cells growing dim
                              so lets just begin

                              [ - ok no i'll stop right now! ]

So the era would be around mid to late 80's

                              Clue 1: twinkle my forest.
