Mousetrap! I remember getting that from Santa for christmas when I was 7 or 8. My parents were not amused when My sister, cousin and I assembled it and started playing at 6:30am

I think my absolute favourite boardgame has to be Civilisation (not the Meier one), although I have very fond memories of Beastlord! Just don't have the time or floorspace to lay it all out and do the hidden movement and tactical battles these days.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

I recall the TV show from the '60s. IIRC, they had a giant version of the game on the set, and kids moved around it in the role of the mouse. At the time I thought this was very cool, as I thought the game itself was.

Im pleased to note that one of Princess of the Mark's little friends has Mousetrap, and so PoM has had a chance to experience the wonder.

I remember Talisman. What a great board game. I had the dungeon, and the city and the vortex add-ons, so it required an enourmous amout of space. With 6 or 7 players it could last a whole weekend.

Noone to play with now though Is there a PC version?

          Not that I know of.
My brother has the city, dungeon, and timescape, plus a board he made. The board he made is the same physical size as the main board but has significantly more spaces. He also made a good number of characters and cards.

Move to Germany and I'll give you a game, eh? It was a masterpiece of roleplaying board games, nothing has ever got close to it in comparison.

You're killing me, A&A was/is awesome!!! If you like Risk, my observation is that you'll love A&A. Unless you're like my wife and don't want to spend the time to learn the rules.

Axis & Allies, but its literally impossible to find anyone to play with. Everyone would rather play stupidpeoplewithnopatience games.
Cranium would be my second favorite game.

The bad news is that their actual site is down. Oh well, it's almost definitely windows only.

I do have good news for myself though, the room I'm in is big enough to play it. I'm going to ask my brother if he wants to play when he gets home.

Never seem to have time but in the past enjoyed (mainly wargames rather than board if thats a difference ?) ...

Empires of the Middle Ages. Cons - don't know anyone with a copy anymore.

Atlantic Wall - tried this as a four player game once, worked pretty well but its a big map and a long game.

1829 - Northern version but only becuase that was the one i played first.

Vietnam. Started a game sometime in the early 90s and get together to play a few turns each summer. Not very productive though as spend most of the time we set aside is for setting up again and trying to remember just what is going on.

About the only game i play now is Warrior Knights which can be finished in a weekend.

I also liked Car Wars, but that wasn't exactly a board game. That's closer to a rpg than a board game.

Stratego was decent. Monopoly was also great. Clue was pretty cool as well.

I think Dungeons and Dragons had a board game too . Fairly simplistic compared to the rpg.
