  • Tragic stupidity...

I got to San Fran today and started looking around, poking my nose everywhere it didnt belong and found the "Emporer" or whatever its called. Thinking ahead to the future I noticed that one of the options on the menu was to format the hard drive. Of course I said yes because the computer didnt give me crap for info. Now 6 hours later Im sitting here all confused, the Shi have fuel, but they're all dead, nothing in san fran appears to be a holding tank except those things in the "palace" and you cannot interact with them. So I give up and go search for a walkthrough and it breaks my heart to stumble upon the fact that I need that damn computer to get the fuel, but without the computer there is no fuel, without the fuel there is no transport to youknowwhere, and without transport to youknowwhere I cant finish the game!!!

    woe is me.

on the funnier side of things, I found the bridge of death!

        Ah. Doh.

I thought you went to SF in real life, bought a game called "Emperor" and it formatted your hard drive.

Fortunately for you, nothing particularly humorous happens at the end of the game, unless you count "being told how badly you screwed everything up" as being humorous...

Is this another one of those FF storylines where the world ends no matter what you do?

No, it's not that bad, there are only a couple of awful things that cannot be prevented. However, considering how Space05us has been playing the game, I doubt that there are very many good things that will result from his actions...

Hey! There's only a couple of those.

That's gotta be the most surreal first post ever.

I guess they had to put that format hard drive option in there for people who do that with their real life computers and don't know what it really does

I hope you weren't using the same slot for your save games.

It helps to use all 10 slots. Often I will use the same one over and over while in the same town. When I move to a different area I use a different save slot in case I screw things up in that town/area.

I know what it means, I was thinking ahead. I figured if its one of the options then it was part of a mission.

I use three, but even if I had used all ten it wouldnt make a difference. I spent 6 hours messing around in game before I figured out that I screwed up, I had saved over the old files long ago.

its only confusing if you've never played Fallout 2

Whilst that may be true it is customary to indicate which game you are talking about, instead of just posting random babble.
