Vacant or less rich people occupying it.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Did any of you with whom we played the pre-SimCityScape MP game play it a lot after we abandoned our little San Francisco bay area? I didn't play it at all since then almost...
I still play the game from time to time, but not our San Fransisco game...

Btw, those screenshots was released a "long" time ago, I just didn't post them, since it seems like nobody around here cared about it anyway...

I've been hanging out at Simtropolis for SC4-related stuff. It's not that I don't care...it's just that I care somewhere else.

I only visit that place from time to time...

              Very well:

Maxis has released the Lot Editor (allows you make your own buildings using existing props); The Building Architect Tool (BAT) is forthcoming sometime in the next few months (don't recall a timeframe); The Modd Squad has a VERY useful program, iLive Reader, available at Simtropolis (allows you to modify both the .dat and .SC4lot files). They've also released 2 (3?) additions to the Lot Editor that add Res/Com/Indust buildings that were left out of the vanilla editor. Maxis has also done this, minus the industrial buildings.

Simtropolis has several forums devoted to different things inside SimCity 4 (like ACS) that contain plenty of useful info. Finally, if you are among those who felt burned by your vanilla copy of SC4, the second patch (includes the first patch) has corrected many problems, though somethings are beyond "repair" for the most part. Read the readme.txt file to find out what's in and what's not. I'm hoping they'll fix the pathfinding subroutines to make the little Sims drive the shortest-TIME paths instead of the short-DISTANCE routes.

Hopefully, RH will bring a lot of good non-cosmetic things into SC4. I'm going to be seriously pissed if it turns into another "The Sims" scam. EA Games as done a lot to butcher Maxis. It needs to stop...

I didn't play it at all since then; in fact, I still have it from where we left off, if there is any interest in continuing it...

                  I definitely agree with that!

That sounds like fun, except my Wintel box is too slow for SimCity 4

That's exactly what I am afraid of, too... Although the traffic micromanagement might look promising, I am really not sure it is enough to make the game last so much longer.

Well, I don't have the game installed any more, nor do I have the CD now - I left the whole box of game CD's at college when I left for the summer. So, count me out if there is any interest after all.

Also, there's a Rush Hour Movie (17.6 Mb) you can download at: http://simcity.ea.com/about/simcity4/videos_05.php

It shows some of the new features, such as the new transportation features and the vehicles you can control in the city.

I really like the new traffic possibilities, but I don't like that you can drive around with some of the cars... and a tank... Sounds more like something for completely different game...

I think it's just going more into the "build a city... then destroy it!" part, so that you get more control in the disasters and such.
