On Topic: Boycotting the Dixie Chicks is pretty stupid.

I remember once "patriotic" person chiming in saying "We should strap them to a bomb and drop them on iraq". Averege southern intelligence for ya.

I think it's my right as a citizen to let them know their music and their political beliefs suck.

They have the right to say what what they did and the public has the right to not buy their music as a result. Its time for celebrities to understand that while they are free to have an opinion and to voice it, the public can do the same by boycotting their goods.

I strongly support the right of attractive young women to pose in public without their clothes on.

The older I get, the more important this right becomes.

That's fine and good. But when you get into the area of death threats and such, that doesn't speak much for how our society reacts to an opinion they dont agree with.

A "consequence" of speaking your mind shouldn't entail living in constant fear. I think it's sad these self-proclaimed patriots have to resort to juvenile and/or criminal tactics.

I agree, but I've also recently seen Tim Robbins whining about how unfair it is for the public to boycott actors who've made similar statements. Personally, I dont understand why anyone would care what celebrities think about any issues. Time for Timmy and the rest to grow up. A lack of responsibilty for what you say and do is endemic in this country.

But Bill O'Relly said something about that dumbass senator from Pennsylvania that I think applies to the Dixie chicks. He said that senator shouldn't be punished for expressing his religious beliefs. Well I think the same applies to the Dixie chicks. They shouldn't be punished for expressing their beliefs- no matter how wrong or stupid they were.

But anyways I don't support a boycott of them. In fact I liked them better after they said what they said. Even though I think they are stupid and wrong. And posing nude always helps improve my attitudes towards women .

Although one might say it would be better to increase the boycott. Maybe they will pose nude in playboy if we push the boycott hard enough . It may be worth a try.

Also I'm worried about all the death threats. What a sick country we live in. I have heard some people try to organize possies to travel to Europe to "get" them. whatever that means. There have been death threats to them and their family. What will happen when they open their U.S. tour in South Carolina?

Anyways this picture is on a major U.S. magazine, so I hope it is accpetable here. But if not just delete it.

IMAGE EDITED BY MING... While I know it ran on the cover of a magazine, it still violates the rules of this site... Hands over naked breasts.. sigh...

They also had an interview on Primetime Thursday. I was working and did not see it. Here's a related article

They were paid for their music.
Nobody came to the concert to listen to their "insight".

I thought what they said was great and why should everyone in Texas be expected to have the same opinion as everyone else in Texas? Ridiculous.
