    I'd be happier with a AT-TE, personally.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

there would be hover car wreckage raining down on houses.

I guess one could get a FUI... or would that be a HUI.

People will never drive flying cars everywhere like in all those sci-fi movies (5th Element, Back to the Future 2, and Judge Dred come to mind). People have a hard enough time handling 2 dimensions to drive in. Can you imagine the chaos driving in 3 would cause? It would mean a whole ****load of dead people.

How nice it would be. The pollutions would increase (obviously it takes more energy to hover than driving) and you could start stacking traffic jams upwards instead of sideways.

Hover cars will never be made available for the public. Think of the mess it would create. People can't even drive in two dimensions, imagine a third. AHHHH!

And think about terrorism. Some nut could fly a car into anything.

                Hover Cars... it won't happen.

I'm shocked by all the pessimism in Apolyton .

I think that it could happen but only if the automatic pilot works properly. If the government aggressively gets involved and creates a vast GPS network that reliably operates these autopilots then it's possible and woud curtail any "terroist" act and has the potential of reducing accidents.

Well, if there is some computer controlled thingy, fine. But I don't want people flying around. That's a recipe for disaster.

There would still be roads, methinks... even a computer controlled system would be affected by the weather.

so these cars will have wheels?? other than wheels just for landing. even than i think they wouldnt have 'wheels' to drive on. it would add too much weight. heck, might as well make them float.

A thread about cars... What a great oppotunity to announce that I passed the driving exams today from the first attempt.

we would also still need roads for all of us poor people who will still have to use old fassioned forms or transportation.
