People will never drive flying cars everywhere like in all those sci-fi movies (5th Element, Back to the Future 2, and Judge Dred come to mind). People have a hard enough time handling 2 dimensions to drive in. Can you imagine the chaos driving in 3 would cause? How nice it would be. The pollutions would increase (obviously it takes more energy to hover than driving) and you could start stacking traffic jams upwards instead of sideways.Comment

Hover cars will never be made available for the public. Think of the mess it would create. People can't even drive in two dimensions, imagine a third. AHHHH!
And think about terrorism. Some nut could fly a car into anything.
Hover Cars... it won't happen.

I think that it could happen but only if the automatic pilot works properly.
