Well... dishes adapted from Indian dishes to suit the English palate in the RAJ and then further adapted for sale back home.

I'd assume on the Indian subcontinent itself, there is more curry .

That doesn't change the fact that curry is the #1 restaurant and takeaway food in this country.

Maybe Indian Indians aren't as nice as British ones.

                They are certainly different.

Depends where you go of course. A lot of India is vegetarian for a start and what we eat tends to be a lot richer than what they have in most of the country.

We also mix ideas from all over the subcontinent that you wouldn't really see together in India 'cause they all come from different regions.

True; apparently my favourite dish, the Dhansak, is Persian in origin..

I'm still in a better position of authority on the subject Mike. I bet I've eaten 10 times more curried dishes than our fair Bods has.

Yep, and the pilau concept and naans also came from western asia with the Muslims.

Pretty unlucky having to eat that many curries if you don't like them.

4 mins in a microwave oven but still as nice as any take away curry.

For a curry in birmingham you've gotta go to the stratford road.

I had 13 curry houses within a 5 minute walk of my house when I lived in Selly Oak, they were a bit hit and miss but even as they changed chefs etc there was always one that was really good.

Where were you when I was still living at home? Maybe you could have 'switched' with me for dinner .
