  • What if...

What if after the war the US dont find any forbidden weapons? Do they say: "oops, were sorry for invading you by mistake"?
AFAIK, more than half of the country is already captured, and there is still no trace of the weapons of mass destruction.

Then a brutal dictator is still gone and 24 million people are free to govern themselves.
Since when does the national security of the United States depend on the opinions of the heads of state of Angola, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, and Guinea?

Yea, yea. I know more good will come out of it than bad. But that WASNT the reason for the war.

And there is plenty of even more ruthless dictators in the world that need to be wasted. You dont wanna get involved into 5 wars per year, do you?

What makes you think the US will even defend the pretext it used to declare war on Iraq?

Oh, do not worry, the USA will find illegal weapons in Iraq, whether they actually exist or not.

Yeah, they'll be free to govern themselves whenever the US decides they are ready, and as long as they pick a government that obeys the US.

They will have more people dead than free.

Since they have no WOMDs the USA will either plant some or admit to lying.

The Iraqi people are already exercising their freedom by having the US choose what US companies help in rebuilding Iraq after the war. They have even kindly offered to pay the philanthropic companies with Iraqi oil.

Clearly you failed to respond to the main point of the OP.

I just have a low-tolerance for ridiculous rhetoric.

If you think this war is an act of charity by the Bush regime, you are blinkered, to say the least.

I think Saddam Insane has had plenty of chances to bomb the West with WMD in the last 20 years.

All it takes is a suitcase full of Sarin and a suicidal maniac.

Why hasn't he done this yet?
Why hasn't he bombed our troops yet?
I don't think he has the capability.

Oh well, we tough Allies get to beat up another crappy 3rd world nation.

They will downplay the WMD and say how this war was about Iraqi Liberation (hence the name, Operation Iraqi Freedom). The puppet regime will control the population while American companies profit from reconstruction and the sale of the oil. Then, in several years, a democratically elected fundamentalist government will come to power and we'll have to do this all over again.
To us, it is the BEAST.
