Couldn't you just things in the simple way? As in:
11:00, eleven hundred hours *one hour passes*
12:00, twelve hundred hours *one hour passes*
13:00, thirteen hundred hours...
why can't you just say I was lying at the beach at 12 'o clock
i was lying at the beach at 1 'o clock, 2 'o clock and so on
surely everybody knows you're not going to lie there at night
