There are 43,143,849 dog owners in the United States, who own a total of 61,542,900 million dogs, and there are 74,894,580 million cats for a total of 136,437,480 pets.

Of the 102.8 million households in the U.S., 31.2 million have at least one cat as a pet.

The following statistics exemplify pet owners feelings towards their pets.

28,539,216 dog owners purchase Christmas gifts for their dogs.

37,001,698 cats receive Christmas gifts from their owners.

13,455,002 cats have their birthdays celebrated.

9,843,962 dog owners celebrate their dogs' birthdays

    Reason for Ownership Dogs Cats
Someone To Play With 90% 93%
    Companionship 83% 84%
    Help Children Learn 82% 78%

I have a cat for emotional security.

Plus, it's fun to put a kitten's whole head in my mouth, but that's just how I get my kicks.

What is clear is that people get cats as replacemnt humans more than dogs.

                        i dont want a wussie p*ssie..

same goes for dogs. No tiny b*tches.

Its gotta be big pets, or else ill step on them (deliberately)

Unfourtunately, cats dont come any bigger... so unless I get a permit to raise a huge feline, Ill stick to dogs.
                        :-p

Nobody messes with Velociraptor. (BTW, he's cowed 70 lb dogs into submission several times, and fights like no other cat that ever lived. I mean, he has his own style that puts Bruce Li to shame. He has to be kept separate from our other cats and dogs for their protection.)
