I'm 42 now. I don't think I've changed that much except that I can let things roll off me a lot easier now. I don't get upset, even with idiots, there are just to many of them to get worked up everytime you meet them. Its like life on the forum. You can debate the same points a few times and then you just don't feel like you have to battle everyone that shows up.

Maybe its not a personality change. Maybe its just getting old and tired.

      I'm very... uhm... stingy.
blimey that must be a rarity in israel...

i used to be a very agressive, confrontational little bastard, until i was about 14, then i got increasingly introverted and withdrawn, i used to get worried and stressed about things very easily. thankfully that only lasted about a year and a half, now a week short of 19 i'm very mellow and laid back (or lazy and bone idle, depending on how you look at it ). ever the optimist now and well happy with how things are going, both with regard to my personality and life in general.

I used to be a Republican.

People can present a different personality depending on who they talk to.

Has my personality changed? Probably. But it's incredibly difficult to say when and how. When I first joined Poly, I was only 'out' to a coupla people and was right-wing and highly-religious.

              Now I'm a liberal agnostic.

Too many people on this thread are mistaking "beliefs" for "personality." They are two totally different things.

Why do people keep talking about political changes throughout your life? Politics and personality don't equate to the same thing.

Its incredibly difficult to measure your own personality change - without being insane. It's much easier to measure it by beliefs and politics.

As a kid I was very outgoing, what you could call precocious. Now I am more withdrawn and shy. I have always been inquisitive and not very tolerant of individuals I think are acting stupidly. That has not changed so much.

I have always been what one wuld call a "goodie twoshoes", hardly ever get into problem, I never break rules just to break them, so forth and so on. That has also not changed.

Values is part of your character. Your outlook on the world, life, relations, etc.

I agree with JohnT: values are not really part of your character. There are shy fundamentalist Monetheists, and there are shy Fanatical Atheists.

And there are enough bastards in all camps.

I think people here might be reticent to make an evaluation of their character as opposed to values.

Is "skpetical" a value or a part of your character? What about "pacificistic?" To me, a person can't tell where her values end and her character begins. A person's values affect her character, and her character in turn affects her values. It's one great big whole.

So pacifists would never get in a fight? As for being skeptical, that has not really been a system of beliefe for a while: i mena, whats the last time you met a practising skeptic?
