Kerry called for a "regime change" here in the US. I looked at it this way, the US has a democratic government, Iraq has a rigime. Regime to me is dictatorship kind of thing. Is that correct?

No, a regime is any political system:
definition:
regime: a form of government or rule, a particular administration or government, a social system or order, the period of time that a person or system is in power.
Thus any government is a regime, though we like to give it negative connotations. If you don't like reality, change it! me

As GePap said, regime is not specific to a government system.Lime roots and treachery!

Thanks.
the correct term for america is "administration", ie "The Bush Administration".
but, if you think clinton was evil (and he was) call him a regime"I've lived too long with pain. I won't know who I am without it. We have to leave this place, I am almost happy here."
