  • Futurama on Fox again?

I'm watching Fox right now (7:16 Pacific Standard Time) and they have Futurama on!

I thought Fox dropped Futurama. Did it get picked up again or is this some twisted joke by the execs?

They are playing the last of the fourth season that they never played last year I think.

yeah I think the idiots cancelled the programme and stopped showing it at the same time which left about 8 unseen episodes for future usage.

          Futurama is great.

            Futurama > Simpsons

Simpsons is stale and losing its edge ( latest episodes just aren't that funny ) yet they still make it and cancel Futurama which is far superior.

            *sigh*

Don't forget that Cartoon Network plays old episodes of Futurama Sunday-Thursday.

Putting Futurama in a kiss-of-death timeslot ratings wise sure didn't help it's longevity.

Fox is top heavy with good cartoons anyway, what with Simpsons, King of the Hill, and that goofy Bill O'Reilly character.

King of the Hill is boring, IMHO. BTW, I thought that Futurama and The Simpsons were both created by Matt Groening?

I thought it was mildly amusing when I watched it every once in a while, but a local station has been playing it every night in syndication, and now I think the show is hilarious. The running propane jokes are pure insanity.

They are in fact Groening creations.

I prefer Family Guy - hasn't that also been cancelled?

Yes, and Cartoon Network has also picked it up and plans to start airing it next month, I believe.

April 20 is the start date for Family Guy, but CN can't air the first season for awhile (they just released it on DVD). It'll air at 11:30 M-TH, right after Futurama.

Futurama was never "canceled", in that it wasn't actually taken off the air it was just being pre-empted almost all the time. In fact, last night instead of Futurama (which was a new one you all got to see) I had an Indianapolis Fox Weather Special - explaining the intricacies of lightning and tornadoes - wow!

Today they're going to start the Futurama run again - so if you wanted to see every (almost, some haven't aired on Fox yet and can't be shown) episode in order, tune in at 11:00. On the same note, Trigun, a new series to Adult Swim is premiering - I plan on seeing if this anime series is for me, it's said to be really good.
