  • Unexpected thunder storm makes Israelis jump out of skin

God dammit it was scary. My chest still aches from the near heart attack I got.

Suddenly a huge and powerfull thunderstrike, just near my home (and Azazel's obviously).

Dozens of people began to scream.

A second later I understood it was thunder, but my father still thought the IDF missed something.

And then a second thunder 30 seconds later, makes me twich again.

It was sooo friggin close and loud. Eek.

My chest does ache now. What are the signs of a heart attack?

yeah. I didn't hear screams, and I calmed down relatively fast, since I saw the lightining as well.

      I don't believe this warrants a thread.

It's an amusing thread where we can exchange whimsical comments about the cynicism in this situation, where a whole nation is scared sh*tless, from something that will most likely not occur.

Also, war veterans can come and share their stories about how munitions accidentally exploded next to them, and almost hit them / scared the hell out of them.

Do you get frequent missile strikes in the Great Plains as well?

So far I'm glad that Israel is completely safe from Iraqi, or any other, attack.

Siro, I have one 'near' experience. Well actually not, since it couldn't have done nearly any damage to me myself, but I threw some explosives (don't know the correct word for the explosive), and it hit the first tree that was practiacally next to me.. I was in big rush to run away and jump, also my trainer was very pleased with my super performance
He yelled his lounges out, but like the masochist I am, it was better than sex.. plus the explosives and high adrenaline run and jump.. man.. it was nice.
But this doesn't count, nothing really serious.. so it really wasn't near situation.
                            In da butt.

I laugh at you, but then, thunder has made me jump out of my skin before too, and I wasn't even expecting an explosion.

I once watched the most amazing electrical stom when I lived in Chicago. I didn't take it too seriously at first, and I took a shower while the storm was going on. Then the house across the alley got struck by lightening, and some of the streamers hit my building, and I got a nasty jolt. Lightening never strikes the same place twice, yeah, right. A minute later I got zapped again. I rinsed my hair and got out.

After a little while, I decided to sit on the back porch to watch the storm (it was opposite the side the rain was coming down. The rain was almost horizontal (maybe five degrees off horizontal). The sky was glowing shades of green, cherry, and purple with each clap of thunder. The storm lasted twelve hours. It was an amazing thing to watch.
