The French are deffinitely strting to come around. We will either see a deal soon or Bush will say Fvck off and not compromise at all. I think there will be a 2 week deadline probably.

Bush has been saying that all along. He's been delaying for the benefit of Blair, but they've realized he's pretty f*cked.

did he give any reason? is he just lazy? or afraid of the secret police?

Both he and Kerry, the other anti-war Democrat who has a chance, both feel that it is wrong to criticise on-going wars, even though that's how Kerry himself first came to prominence, being one of the leaders of Vietnam Vets Against the War. They're still thinking that America sees them as untrustworthy on defense, when the problem is that America sees them as willing to say anything to get elected and not ready stand for anything (though, of course, Georgia did toss that wounded vet for being opposed to Bush's war-mongering). Thus they let draft-dogers like Bush make them seem like cowards.

that's a shame, I thought Dean would stick up for his beliefs and ours. I was really pushing him...I'll have to look into this...though he's still probably the best bet in my opinion.

Was it just me or did anyone else think Bush looks a bit bored about the whole press conference thing?
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Screw the best bet. Don't vote for them if they don't support the best policies. Fvcking Democrats will never learn if we keep voting for them.

DuncanK - sad but true I'll probably have to support the Greens in the next election, unless Kerry or Dean can grow some ****ing testicles and pledge not only to get us out of this war, but admit that it was wrong to wage in the first place.

Then again, really...either way we're ****ed and so is Iraq. Once we get in there and mess everything up, we can't just leave...but we shouldn't stay either...jesus christ...

I can't speak for the Spanish leader, but Blair has not hung himself politically ..

Who would take his place ?? seriously ?? The tories support Blair more than he supports himself, the lib dems will agree with whatever they conceive to be the majority opinion on the latest opinion poll, and will still only score 20% in national elections, regardless.

There is nobody to replace Blair .. The only thing that can bring him down is a disaster of a war .. and I believe that will be because he will step down.

Its a shame that so few are willing to stand up and take the necessary steps to provide stability and hope for world peace. My prayers are with the administration, US and coalition troops and the innocent who will be caught up in this impending action.

Viceroy - what about a vote of no confidence? Is it possible? Is it likely?

maybe it's the ignorant american media, but i heard that Blair had little to no party support for war w/o a resolution, and even less population support.
