    How about some anime?

    In no particular order:

    Azumanga Daioh
Follow the life of several Japanese highschool girls. Sort of like Seinfeld, only much funnier.

    FLCL
Naota is a normal kid, living in a boring town. His brother's gone off to America to play baseball, and now his brother's girlfriend is hanging all over him. And this other girl, who calls herself an alien, shows up and runs him over with her scooter. Right before hitting him on the head with her guitar. And then robots start popping out of his head.
That's when things start to get weird.

    Puni Puni Poemi
Poemi is an extremly energetic but not too bright girl who wants to be a voice actress (in fact, she has a hard time remembering she's playing a role). Her parents (a/k/a "The Director" and Kumi-san) are tragically killed, and she ends up living with her best friend's family. And then she finds out she's a magical girl...

    Dragon Half
Mink is a normal sixteen-year-old girl. Except for having a dragon for a mother, that is. Her father, a famous dragon-slayer, fell in love and, well, the result was Mink. Now Mink has a crush on the popular singing idol and dragon-slayer **** Saucer, and is trying to get to his next concert. Only the king has the hots for Mink's mom, and is trying to capture Mink to use as a lure for her father...

    Child's Toy
Sana is a child actress on a popular TV show, Child's Toy ("Kodomo no Omocha"). Another genki girl, she's engaged in a classroom war with Hayama, leader of the boys, who's stirring things up so much they never seem to actually have any lessons.

    Wraith
"You know how sometimes you can see the dust in your eyes? I'm chasing it right now."
    -- Osaka ("Azumanga Daioh")

'Coupling' is a pretty good show too
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Still scary that Benny Hill, one of the worst British comedians ever, managed to make a dent in the American psyche
It's not the slapstick as much as the T & A, but The 3 Stooges is in the same vain.

When I was teen, that was the only reason I watched it. T&A that is.

Well, I happened to have enjoyed Benny Hill. When I was, like, 9-10, though, so I guess my perspective on humor was different.

I didn't get it at all until I was 12 or 13. Early 80's. The humor was funny, but the chance to see boobs, made me watch every night.

And this was on a local station in Utah. I even saw an old "Hammer" film that they missed editing out the boobs on. Needless to say, KSTU channel 13 was my favorite station for years.

Sadly, they are now a FOX affiliate.
