It's as if a switch has suddenly been flipped somewhere.
Up until a week or so ago, my sleeping pattern was this: Go to sleep at some point between midnight and three o'clock, in a relatively slow way, drifting off for about 20 minutes before sleep ensues. Wake up at around 6 AM, look at the bedside clock, immediately fall back asleep. Repeat once per sleeping cycle until about 11 AM, when I conciously decide to not go back to sleep and have got my eight-to-ten of shuteye.
Now, for some reason, when I wake up at 6 AM, I can no longer immediately go back to sleep. Instead I twist and turn irritably for half an hour or more, leaving me shattered the next morning.
Any sensible explanation? I've got no problem falling asleep at night!
