Don't forget about the people who would have died if Saddam had stayed in power.

When comparing possible futures we should bare in mind the likely conquences of inaction vs action.

I do think many of the people who oppose the war do it for all sorts of situations having nothing to do with the war. Many protestors probably still see Bush as an illegtimate President. That someone who is anti-war but no anti-administration might be turned away from some rallies should not be a surprise.

Both sides have extremist which will turn centrist supporters of their cause away.

You mean there really is a war?

The extremists are particularly vocal in the anti-war movement, however, at least from what I've seen. It's really a shame that the more intelligent and effective war opponents get lost in a sea of hatred for Bush and America...

Thats because the extremist for the war party are those in power. they don't need to march to make themselves heard. After all, the Republicans were a lot more *****y out of power than in. When in power you have the incentive to 'moderate' the message, since you have to sell to a bigger audience.

Wouldn't it be in the best interests of the anti-war movement to moderate their message as well? They would be best served by attracting as many folks as possible. Catering to extremists just drives away the moderates who you should be working to persuade...

I’ll take even the most common satire from the maker of the “Bush Regime” thread:

The economy's in the tank. Okay, that's not really his fault…

Three, civil rights: okay, we aren't a police state…

People have had their businesses destroyed for the crime of being Muslim

As you can see, I really like the last point outlining the rampant Bush regime shutting down Muslim commerce part. Otherwise, strong and not at all indecisive writing skills there, Mr. Welfare. Been fired from your “job” yet?

Nothing against Muslims as a group, but come on!

The anti-war crowd has distinct disadvantages today. The press is unsympathetic to letting them spread their message..since the war has yet to beign, they really don't have a united message to sell anyway, plus they have to do it at a time more Americans want to believe the president, if only because they feel safer that way in a world of insecurity.

The rest of your post was spot on, but I don't buy this one. I see anti-war activists, celebrity or non, on TV every single day...

Know why they're being let out? So people like Che won't have the opportunity to smear the opposite in declaring the US government as a systematic monster solely against the muslim faith.

                                Thanks Che!
