Then try Pizza out of the station. Consider John's pizza, or the Original Famous Rays..if you ever find the Original...

In NY, all pizza is thin, the best pizza is cooked in a brick oven. As for names, they are not ery standard..you choose the type of pie (in most places, margharita [tomato sauce, mozarella] is the only choice. Other places give you white pies (all cheese), or red pies (no cheese)) and then add topings as you go.

Some of the topings I saw comonly in europe do not appear much in the US. I must say NY is conservative with its pizza..we lack all the crazy toppings the folks in Cali have.

There's a great restaurant down on Ave. A in the E. Village called "Two Boots," which is a Cajun pizzeria. Having a pizza with cajun spices on it is a unique experience, I guarantee.

HOW COULD YOU GO TO A Sbarro while in New York.
We have them in Chicago as well, and nobody with any real taste would consider eating at one.

The only people who eat at Sbarro's in places like New York and Chicago are tourists. Same goes for the cleintele of places like the Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc.

Forgive them, they know not what they do...

well if you give the other pizza shops a look in the bus terminal , .....

when you have the time to wine and dine , yes that you should not go there , ..... but eating pizza from one of those funny looking going chapter 11 , 12 or 13 all the time where the people dont use gloves , nah , then you should go to an sbarro if one is around , ....

Both the Seattle and the San Fransisco airports have some great restaurants. The salmon Locks baggle I had in SEA was one of the best I've ever had; they had a tank with live salmon in it which they butchered and served it to you while it was still "warm".

Pizza in Shanghai is definitely different.

It's usually of the thin variety, and the cheese is (predictably) very mild. Tomato sauce is not a requirement. It's the toppings that are bizzarre, I still don't know what some of them are. Kiwi fruit can be nice.

Chinese takes on other western staples are similarly twisted. "Salad" and "cake" are, I have learned, relative terms. Bread here is sometimes eaten plain, right out of the bag. Mmmm, nothing like a nice, factory-fresh slice of dry, flavor-free food matter. "What, put butter on it? BUTTER? No thanks."

Oh, I miss really good, cheap, home-delivered pizza!
