Do you really have much choice when you just start out? Unless you want to buy a fake ID(might not be a good idea in the age of homeland security), you are pretty much going to be limited to what you are served. Just stick with plain old beer. Chances are as a college freshman you will be served cheap crap, but you'll just have to deal with it.
