Yep, police authority in Britain has always been rather frightening ever since the initial terrorism acts in response to the IRA. Almost as bad as in the US after the Patriot Act.

You mentioned them, that whole affair was shambolic and it made your judicial system look a litteel chaotic.

As for a facist state, you have either forgotten your own countries recent history which would show what a facist state really is like or you are as ever trolling.

Britain certainly didn't seem like a police state last year when I lived in that council housing project in Southampton where the 16-year-old kids owned the streets and the police were too scared to come and do anything about it when we were getting beaten up.

As said that would be just hilarious IF it was a joke

So anyone who says Americans are terrorists is to be arrested in Britain from now on?

Might as well arrest half the planet.

What is absolutely fascistic is the criminilization of opinions that seem to be in full swing in Britain.

You seem to have become America

Police authority in the UK is very tightly controlled since several appaling miscarriages of justice in the 70's and 80's.

There are very strict limits on how long you can be held before charge

How does the arrest of man prove that the UK is undemocratic. If information is available that people might be aiding terrorism do we let them carry on becasue they are Greek academics. If the decison to arrest was wrong then there should be an inquiry and apologies and compensation

Why wasn't the Greek consulate informed about his arrest on 25 of February and why wasn't his family notified too?

What are the charges against him and for what was he arrested?

Nice rule of law you got.

I'm shocked to see Zorba against this after Greece's appalling response to the plane spotter's case. He should be cheering the crown on.

Please offer some proof that that's what happened?

A guy I used to share a house with was a press photographer and he said that the rumour in the press corps was that the head of that aeroplane photographer group was actually a real spy anyway.

It seems he has been charged unedr the terrorism act 2000, there don't appear to be other details on the link
