Nor should the federal government be in the business of giving money (especially money w/ strings attached) to any corporation, for any reason, because that's not a proper function of government.
      First, defending the nation (including its secrets) is a function of government. The other corporations depend on that as well as the people.

      Second, corporations are a part of our society. They don't exist as independent entities. They depend on us and we depend on them. What they do affects all of us. Of course they shouldn't be left to do whatever. They should be made to serve the public in the publics interest. Why should they exist otherwise?
