Nope... didn't even do jack for them.

I'm in the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild, but I don't have the stats to advance in the Mages Guild (I use combat MUCH more than use magic), and I've forgotten about the Fighters Guild for a while for the main quest (don't want to spoil anything ).

Anyone who defiles this thread with disparaging remarks about Adventure Games should be banned.

      Monkey Island series
Full Throttle (they're working on 2)
      Sam & Max
      Grim Fandango
      'nuff said.

And how old are those again?

I admit that there are some good "new" adventures getting out, like Syberia and Post Mortem but they only cater to a niche market. And the amateur scene, though very active, is very small...

      If only I liked shoot-em-ups...
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
      Once again...

morrowind is a classic example of sequalitis also. mw is just an updated version of daggerfall with fancy new gfx, and a few different features. in many ways mw is worse than daggerfall. daggerfall was much more challenging in combat, lots of cool vampires/witch's coves/werewolves stuff, it had random questing, a bigger world, huge dungeons, guilds had meaningful perks, and a cooler storyline with personality(the underking anyone?).

mw could have been a much greater game if it had upped the ante over daggerfall instead of attemping to fix daggerfall's problems. mw did fix daggerfall's crashing problem but i must also point out the latest daggerfall patches are as stable as mw on my system. mw was easier to mod but again it was only a half hearted attempt as basically it's impossible to make mods which do something significant.

i was hoping someone would comment on my earlier comment since i thought it had a few insightful remarks. oh well...
That pretty much sums it up for me. Well I don't know anything about daggerfell but the rest of the post. What's that viewing distance exe?

Hey, I actually played three games of DNO! Loads of fun fighting it out over the summer in my friend's cool basement. I loved those games, even when I didn't have time to play them, they were interesting for the variety of systems etc. Of course, a lot of SPI's stuff was crap, but even they came out with a good game every once in a while.

i'm surprised no one has heard of this before. morrowind fps optimizer is like a required app for mw. it makes the game run much better(adjusts view distance to match wanted fps) and if you have a beefy system you can more than double the maximum in game view distance. after you try it i'm sure you'll be surprised at how you ever managed to play mw before.

below is regular max distance via in game sliders

here is maxed out distance when using mw fps optimizer!

pg did you fall throught the floor, in Morrowind? I did twice in Main city. It's funny to swim inside of building and think will I get throught the wall or not.

It was interesting when you was member of Mages guild and Telvani house. If Morrowind had dynamic missions then it could get very interesting.

No, I never played Daggerfall. From what I read it wasn't worth plunking down the money, with all the bugs.

Seeing as Sava is just your average American, I can see why he thinks EA's NHL is fine. He just doesn't really understand how hockey is meant to be played.

I've been playing hockey since I was six. I played in high school and then two years of junior hockey for the Chicago Freeze. I'd school you at your own national pastime.

NHL2k3 sucked man, wtf are you smoking? oh yeah, Bill G's pubes... my bad.

What didn't you like about NHL 2K3?

Was it the realistic goalie physics (what EA really needs)?
Was it the good AI that actually noticably changes strategies when needed?
Was it the "little things" like being able to board people and elbow them that was too much for you?

Anyone who has played hockey would tell you NHL 2K3 is better than NHL 2003...it's night and day. NHL 2003 is okay as an arcade sports games (not much better than NHL Hitz), but it sucks as a sim.

Are you just bitter that NHL 2K3 is console-only, seeing as you hate consoles? I would think it's obviously so...

I don't know exactly what about NHL2k3 I didn't like. It just wasn't as fun. Number one, its not on the PC. And unless you feel like paying extra, you can't play online with people. You can't import graphics, you can't create custom rosters(editing players and such). And it's too easy to score, even on the harder difficulty.

I'd give it like an 8.2, and NHL maybe a 9.1. NHL has few problems.

But I have a feeling you are just arguing because you don't like me so

You've obviously never played NHL 2K3.

                              2. It's MUCH easier to score in EA's games. One-timers are extremely unbalanced in EA's. The scores in NHL 2003 are far higher in the same time as NHL 2K3. That's not just my observation, but everyone I know that has played it, including the reviews.

In NHL 2003, 5-minute period games, the scores would be somewhere like 6-5 almost every game. In NHL 2K3, in the same 5-minute periods, it's usually somewhere like 3-2...

There are also WAY more options to change to modify the game if you don't like something. Compare the options menus for gameplay of NHL 2003 and NHL 2K3...2K3's spans on five different screens, EA has one.

yeah, i flew through the floor usually once every few hours in mw because i liked to hop around since it seemed faster.

It was interesting when you was member of Mages guild and Telvani house. If Morrowind had dynamic missions then it could get very interesting.
agreed. this is where i think mw really fell short. mw needs more interactive elements instead of just a huge lifeless world. daggerfall had random questing, but while it wasn't really faction interactive the dungeons in the quests were usually huge, and mazelike not to mention the monsters adjusted difficulty.

No, I never played Daggerfall. From what I read it wasn't worth plunking down the money, with all the bugs.
this is probably while you think mw is so great. if you had played the original daggerfall you probably wouldn't be so impressed since the main difference is graphics. if you are a big mw fan you should probably try daggerfall someday. it has bad gfx but it's still pretty playable and it'll run on windows pcs. it's about as stable as mw with the latest patch. you used to be able to dl it from the underdogs but i'm sure if you wanted to try it kazaa or such would have it.
