  • How come national geographic can show naked africans all day.......

On PBS and similar non cable TV channels(every country has something like PBS......it is funded by public money/donations, you dont need cable to see it, its free) they can show naked african women ALL day which is against the cencorship rules for public broadcasting as well as naked children-which is a felony(child pornography)...........why is this legal?

More importantly when is National Geographic going to do a documentary on the mating habits of LA's sexiest woman?

    Because it's *cough* Educational *cough*.

It's also the same reason that they've showed tits on MTV. Didn't you see the breast implant documentary?
If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

There is a difference between showing naked people (something purely natural everyone is confronted to daily, at least with one's own nudity) and showing porn, which needs some construction of the libido to be apprehended.
Showing naked children has nothing to do with child porn. Especially in National Geographic : I doubt they film naked children just for the heck of it, but rather to show their way of life. Am I wrong ?

It's Western cultural racism. They think Africans are animals so they show them in their native state.

Porn shows naked people "exercizing" (is there any uncensored word more close to the act here ?) for the sake of it. And animal documentaries do so to some extent too
But National Geographic documentaries show villages, ways of lifes and cultures, which happen to be populated by naked people. The closest comparison would be with a documentary about the life in a nudist camp. Would you only show dressed people in such a documentary ?

I've seen several pornos documentary films like that.

I'll compromise.......a documentary on the mating habit's of Tel-Aviv's sexiest woman
she'll be a complete babe in any case, so I really wouldn't care.

as long as she has a nice personality, of course.

I haven't read the rest of the replies here, but "intent" is likely the difference - the intent of the shows is an examination of different cultures, not pornography.

To use an analogy: A set of new parents who snap a couple of pictures of their newborn taking their first bath and showing them to family members is not guilty of kiddie porn, though all the elements of k-p are there. OTOH, if somebody uploads the pictures onto the internet with the purpose of selling them, THEN you have a case of kiddie porn.

"Having sex" is different with "being naked". I fail to understand why so many people confuse both.
