        24oz for a buck, huh?

Damn. The vending machine in my office charges $1 for a 20oz. Which I'm now drinking.

For the record, 2 litres of Coke costs between £1 and £1.10 (depending on where you shop) round my way. A can costs 50p-60p,

A 2liter bottle is fundamentally different from getting a 20oz-er from the vending machine, though.

2 liters of soda at the supermarket would probably run me between $1 - $1.50

I realise that, but to be honest I wouldn't know how much an ounce was if it bit me on the ass.

Do you realize that we are sitting here discussing bottles of soda?

Damn, we could at least talk about Civ, or start up a ME thread, or argue over whether or not Dubya is the antichrist...

Didn't Nostradamus predict that GW Bush would have a satanic love-child with Sid Meier, and that child would settle on the Gaza strip and start planning a palace jump to Jerusalem in order to reduce corruption throughout his Empire to maximise his Golden Age?

I could have sworn I read that somewhere.

20 ounces is a pint, and a pint is 568ml.

Therefore American ounces must be bigger by 23/568 = 4%.

Things are so expensive here, that I can only get 93 cents for a dollar.

I knew US pints were smaller than UK pints and US gallons were larger than UK gallons, but it seems that fluid ounces are bigger aswell, which I didn't know.

I would never pay for anything that is measured in "ounces".
