  • Snooker

I recently joined a Snooker Club here in Aber, and to my great surprise, I've managed to somehow move my talent from pool to snooker. (Once potted all balls from the break in pool )

But so far my highest break is just 28. Fair enough since I've only played about 10 frames.

    Do you play?

    What's your highest break?

I used to play snooker when I was a teen, over 10 years ago. And I have absolutely no recollection of my highest break. It propably was around 25...

I have to wonder why I quitted it. It was quite fun really.
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

Yeah it's really good. But you need to play against someone on an equal level with you.

My problem is that I find potting the black difficult at the bottom of the table but generally have no problem with long pots from one end of the table to the other.

Need to work on my angles!

My break was a simple 1-6-1-6-1-6-1-6

I used to play every week, and it was good fun.
I never managed to score a high break, but I could piss a lot of people off with my safety play

          Cool game.
Best break was probably only 20-30. Once joined a club, but then realised I didn't want to be like the guys at the club and the game suddenly lost its obsessive appeal.
Great spectator sport, though. Have been watching it in Singapore recently after missing it from Australian TV for many years.

I played several times when I was at Uni. I really sucked, though. Highest break was 18, but it was only 3 balls (blue, pink, black at the end of a frame).
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

Good one..it's actually a really good game to play with three people, if you've ever tried that.

I used to have a snooker table when I was about 8 (a small one, mind), and I was pretty good at it. I've sort of lost my knack at it though, and it shows whenever I try to play pool.

I haven't played for ages, I should start going again at some point. Next time I am in Aber I shall give you a game I think my highest break is 27 (final clearance from yellow).

If you can a 28 break after just 10 frames, you can consider yourself a natural
My highest should be somewhere around 35 (but needed many more frames to get it )

My best was 45, but I've gone downhill since - I'll never be any good, but still play every week for the laughs and the beer!

Four-handers can be real fun - especially if you cheat a bit!

I was semi-professional for about two years, playing in Northern District League. I've had quite a fe century breaks but not played in about two yeas due to time commitments.

I also played Jimmy White and Quentin Hann at bowlers when I was 14.
