  • Rumor has it...

According to some inside information I've heard from a local fire department, the alert status for the USA will be upgraded to red on the 18th and war with Iraq will begin on the 22nd. This information isn't supposed to be public yet, but since it's gonna happen anyway, I figured I would post to see if anyone else has heard anything similar. AFAIK, only the higher up officials (fire chiefs, etc.) know about this.

Keep in mind, this isn't confirmed, but I did hear it from a reliable source.

Any thoughts? I think it sucks.

So who did your fire department buddy hear this from?

You heard it here first Apolyton!
On the other hand, I wonder why a fire department of all things would be privy to such high level top secret info.

Red means "Bend over and kiss your ass goodbye" so I doubt that anyone outside of DC would know about an increase in alert level beforehand.

Not a buddy. The chief. I guess they got a notification from... somewhere. I didn't get all the details. They were told because of the fire departments emergency response duties I guess.

I didn't think war would start for another couple weeks, but maybe this could be an alert to our Iraqi posters to start digging in to their camoflauge trenches.

I think something is going to happen though soon.

If they attack on the 22nd, then there'll be a terrorist attack before the 24th.

I seriously doubt that anybody at the Fire Chief level knows when the attack against Iraq is going to occur. Further, isn't the 22nd half moon? I could buy around March 1, but not the 22nd.

More light during the night. We have night goggles, which makes it more advantageous for us to fight during dark nights.

I would've sworn that there was an article posted on poly before, about the attack starting on feb 22nd, but that could be my imagination.
